Here are areas you should focus on when doing pet grooming.

Brushing.
Combing of the pet ought to be performed more often, at least three times a week on all pets without regard of the coat type they have. Whenever you intend to wash your animal, it is appropriate that you do the combing first. Despite the vast variety of brushes present, animals with straight, long coats require either a curved pin brush or a wire slicker. A regular wire slicker is preserved for hair of medium length as well as for coats which have a dense underneath. Brushing not only removes death hair and tangles, it also give the pet a nice feeling and experience. However, you need to be gentle not to irritate the pet.

Washing
Use warm water all the time when cleaning the pets to prevent them from freezing with cold water which can make them develop the fear for being washed. For small bodied pets, support them in the bathtub to alleviate from panic. Subsequently, use shampoo to lather the whole body of the animal as you massage. Upon rinsing, the pet will be adequately clean. Basing on what your preferences are, you may consider adding a conditioner or a combo before the last rinse. Always dry all young, sick, and old pets and in cold days, dry all pets.

Nails.
Proceed procedurally, from one foot to the next using a clipper which is held close to the nail then squeezed so as to cut off long nails. Be very keen not to cut the area with vast blood supply since it may be very painful to the pet and at the same time can cause massive bleeding. If you injure the bleeding part of the nail by mistake, cover the nail ends using styptic powder for about 30 seconds to stop bleeding.

Mouth Wash.
A pet with patience and kindness makes it possible to massage gums and clean teeth for them. Mouth wash can be enjoyable to the pets and at the same time giving you the a chance to examine the oral health of the animal.
